Napoli beat Atalanta 3-2 in Bergamo
after a scudetto clash that extended the Azzurri's lead at the
top of Serie A to six points over second-placed Inter Milan,
which however has two games in hand and faces 16th-placed Empoli
at the San Siro Sunday night.
Atalanta is one point behind the Nerazzurri in third.
Italy strker Mateo Retegui opened the scoring for La Dea in the
16th minute only for Italy forward Matteo Politano and Scotland
attacking midfielder to put Napoli 2-1 ahead in the 27th and
40th.
Nigeria striker Ademola Lookman levelled in the 55th and Belgium
centre-forward Romelu Lukaku scored Napoli's winner in the 78th,
at the end of a tight and thrillingly open contest in which both
sides had several other chances.
In Saturday night's other games Juventus beat 8th-placed AC
Milan 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium to consolidate fourth slot with
goals from 21-year-old Belgian winger Samuel Mbangula and USA
winger Timothy Weah.
