In the presence of the Italian Ambassador to France, Emanuela D'Alessandro, and the President-Director of the Louvre Museum, Laurence des Cars, the exhibition 'Revoir Cimabue - Aux Origines de la Peinture Italienne' was inaugurated yesterday evening in the Denon Wing of the Louvre, which will remain open to the public until 12 May.
The exceptional exhibition on the Florentine master who anticipated the renewal of Italian and Western art presents in particular the recently restored 'Majesty' and 'The Mockery of Christ', as part of an itinerary with over forty works also coming from Italian museum institutions.
