Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo said
Monday that Italian football is bringing in some innovations to
increase transparency over the working of video-assistant
referees (VAR).
He said that, as of the next weekend's Serie A fixtures, the
footage being examined by VAR during checks will be shown on
stadiums' big screens.
Furthermore, the referees' audio will be hooked in stadiums for
the Italian Cup semi-finals and final so officials can explain
decisions after on-field reviews.
"The objective is to make the decisions taken increasingly
transparent and comprehensible," said De Siervo.
