The Italian Ambassador to Zagreb, Paolo Trichilo, visited Osijek, one of the main towns in eastern Croatia. During the mission, he inaugurated, together with the local representative of the Italian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Italian Design and Brand Exhibition at the Slavonia Museum with materials from the Italian Brand Museum in Naples and a selection of furniture combining the elegance of 'Made in Italy' with sustainable production. Trichilo then had a meeting with the Director of the Archaeological Museum in view of an exhibition dedicated to the Etruscans planned by the Italian Cultural Institute of Zagreb there this autumn. The Ambassador also had a meeting with the President of the Centre for International Relations, with whom future collaborations were examined.
During the mission, he visited two Italian companies, Bra.Pag and PanBiscotto, which are active in the textile and confectionery sectors respectively. The mission ended with a stop at the 'Eugenio di Savoia Palace', built in the 18th century by the Prince in the estate granted by Emperor Leopold I as a sign of gratitude for the defeat of the Ottomans by the Habsburg army under his leadership. The Mayor of Bilje explained to him the plans for the recovery and restoration of the historic building, which is currently in a state of neglect.
