The Italian Embassy in Prague organised the traditional annual meeting of Italian scientists, researchers and scholars working in the Czech Republic in its representative halls. The event was sponsored by the Embassy, the Prague COMITES, and coordinated by the dean of Italian scientists, Professor Luca Vannucci, Director of the Laboratory of Immunotherapy at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences and President of the Society of Immunology of the Czech Republic, recently re-elected for a third three-year term.
After the greetings of Ambassador Mauro Marsili, Professor Vannucci elaborated on the state of the art of Italian research in the country, with a focus on a few areas of excellence such as science, medicine, technology and humanistic studies. He also illustrated the database of Italian researchers, which, on the initiative of the Embassy and COMITES, collects information on the profile and nature of the studies of over one hundred researchers permanently present in the country, many of whom hold top positions in scientific and university institutions of reference. The event was also held with the aim of bringing together and dialoguing with colleagues from different disciplines, in view of the third multidisciplinary conference of Italian researchers in the Czech Republic scheduled to take place in Prague in 2026.
