The Ambassador of Italy to Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, went on a mission to Čakovec, the capital of the northern Croatian Region of Međimurje, where he met the Presidents of the Region and of the Regional Assembly, Matija Posavec and Dragutin Glavin, and the President of the Municipal Council, Josip Varga.
The talks revealed a common desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on the economic, cultural and tourism sectors, which are characterised by growing investment opportunities thanks also to the EU funding from which the Međimurje Region benefits. During the mission, the Ambassador also visited the Tubla d.o.o. (Calzedonia) factory, our country's main investment in Croatia, for which the local authorities expressed particular appreciation. The Calzedonia Group has been present in Croatia since 1995 with 4 production plants and around 50 sales outlets. To date, the group has invested over 200 million Euro in the country, employing over 3,000 people.
