Soprano Silvia Colombini, accompanied by soloists from Milano Classica, performed the most famous opera masterpieces singing of love in the 'InCanto d'Amore' Opera Gala, organised by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Rabat, in collaboration with the 'Fondation Ali Zaoua'.
The first performance was held at the Palais Soleiman in Marrakech, during a charity evening. A second concert was performed in Benguerir, at the campus of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University for the benefit of students, teachers and the general public.
The programme included arias from the great Italian opera repertoire as well as a homage to the Neapolitan tradition, with the performance of the most famous Neapolitan declaration of love, and a solo piece by pianist Stefano Ligoratti dedicated to the 'dream of love'.
The pieces followed the track of literary quotations from international, Arabic and Moroccan literature.
The concerts concluded with an unpublished composition by soprano Silvia Colombini, which built a bridge between the Arabic and Western musical traditions.
