The Italian Ambassador to Georgia, Massimiliano D'Antuono, met with Khatuna Khundadze, Merab Kokochashvili and Giorgi Kharebava, members of the Board of Directors of the Georgian Film Studio, one of the oldest film studios in the world, founded back in 1921, which has produced more than 800 feature, short and TV films, 1600 documentaries and 600 animated films.
Among the topics of the warm meeting, reads a note, were the perspectives of collaboration between the filmmakers of the two countries, bilateral meetings between the producers and joint initiatives.
With Merab Kokochashvili, a well-known Georgian director and screenwriter, 'Third World', the director's new film that will be presented at the Berlin International Film Festival, was discussed.
Following the success of this year's Mestia International Short Mountain Film Festival, which saw Italian mountaineer, explorer, researcher and filmmaker Reinhold Messner as the guest of honour, Khatuna Khundadze, director of the Festival, presented proposals for Italian participation in the next edition of the Festival.
