Premier Giorgia Meloni will give
evidence to the criminal trial for defamation of disgraced
former paparazzi agent Fabrizio Corona, sources said on Monday.
The premier is a civil plaintiff in the Milan trial in relation
to a 2023 article on the Dillinger.it website about a fictitious
'emotional bond' between her and Manlio Messina, an MP for her
Brothers of Italy (FdI) party.
Corona is 'de facto editor-in-chief' of the website.
A journalist, Luca Arnau, is also on trial.
Meloni's lawyer, Luca Libra, has said that he will ask Meloni to
give her evidence at the premier's office in Rome.
