Lazio beat 10-man Real Sociedad 3-1
at Rome's Olympic Stadium on Thursday night to clinch their
place in the Europa League top eight with a match to spare.
Mario Gila, Mattia Zaccagni and Taty Castellanos scored for the
Roman side in the first half.
The eve of the match was marred by clashed between ultras fans
that left nine people injured after around 70 supporters of the
Basque team were set upon by 80 people, presumably Lazio fans,
ahead of the Europa League game.
Meanwhile in another Europa League match on Thursday night, AZ
Alkmaar beat AS Roma 1-0 with the Italian side now out of the
qualification race for the round of 16.
