After a brief truce on Friday, a
fresh bout of bad weather is set to hit Italy over the weekend
bringing heavy rain and snowfall at high altitudes, according to
Antonio Sanò, the founder of www.iLMeteo.it.
Starting on Saturday, intense rain has been forecast over the
North-West.
Then, between Sunday and Tuesday, storms are expected to pelter
the North and parts of the Centre-South, said Sanò.
Rain has been forecast on Sunday in northwestern and
northeastern Italy as well as in Tuscany with snow expected on
Apennine peaks and at an altitude of at least 1400 metres on the
Alps, according to forecasts.
The weather will remain stable in the rest of the country with
higher than average temperatures for this time of the year.
At the beginning of next week, intense rain is expected to
pummel the North, Liguria and Tuscany.
According to forecasts, Tuesday will be the worst day with over
150 mm of rain predicted in the north-eastern Triveneto area and
heavy snowfall on the eastern Alps at an altitude of over 1000
metres.
