Joel Kaplan hailed Italy's innovation potential after meeting
Premier Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Thursday.
"It was a pleasure to meet Italian PM Giorgia Meloni and have
the opportunity to discuss growth and competitiveness, the
social and economic benefits of open source AI & Italy's growing
leadership role as a much needed pro-innovation voice in the
EU," Kaplan said in a LinkedIn post.
"Meta has a great relationship with Italy, which is home to our
Ray-Ban Meta partners EssilorLuxottica.
"There's a real opportunity ahead for Italy to not only be a
world leader in smart glasses and other wearables, but a big
force for positive change in the EU's approach to innovation
more broadly."
